Marriage Works

Marriage works is a groundbreaking relationship curriculum that focuses on the development of skills and awareness that will assist couples in strengthening their union. We also offer premarital workshops to those that are in need.

These seminars are specifically designed to teach and enhance skills that have been proven to be effective in improving marital relationships. This curriculum has four goals: 1) Increase awareness of one’s self and their relationship 2) Improve communication skills and cooperation 3) Develop positive conflict resolution skills 4) Increase intimacy. An initial couple’s assessment will be conducted by a Ph.D. Psychologist. There will be 4 interactive group sessions which are as follows:

Effective Communication: This interactive segment will openly explore the power of effective communication and teach participants skills that are useful in developing effective communication skills.

Masculine vs Feminine: This interactive segment will openly explore the masculine and feminine principle from a psychological perspective. It will assist the participants in gaining a better understanding of their mate and how they may complement each other.

Stress Management: This segment will assist the participants in understanding the importance of self-care and teach techniques that will reduce stress in the home environment.

Intimacy vs Sex: This segment will openly explore the importance of intimacy in a relationship from a physical and spiritual perspective.

The completion of the segments will be followed by a competition session and each couple will receive an individualized marriage plan to work toward their relationships goals and objectives. Each series will be limited to 5 couples per series to enhance productivity.

This comprehensive program is offered Saturday mornings from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. A continental breakfast will be served.

Marriage Preparation Co-Ed Groups

Marriage is a wonderful institution worth working towards.

This psychoeducational group will be facilitated in a 12-session series. All participants will receive an initial screening before the interactive seminars begin. Each group will be limited to 10 participants. The goal of this dynamic program will be to break down the barriers that discourage men and woman from building a healthy relationship. Some of the session topics will be as follows:
